    Lead Pipe and Drape Installers at CORT direct and manage the installation and dismantling of Pipe and Drape + LED Uplighting rental jobs.  This role is based out of CORT’s event business located in Hanover, Maryland, adjacent to the BWI airport.  This CORT facility serves the DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia markets, and Mid-Atlantic areas.   She/He will be responsible for on-site management of both set up and strike of drape and LED uplights for a variety of corporate events, large parties, and other applications for CORT’s event décor offering.

    Responsibilities

    The role of Lead Pipe and Drape Installer requires a minimum of three years’ experience as the Lead Installer on rental drape installations, preferably in high volume, fast paced rental environments.  This person must be able to accurately measure rooms for drape, translating those measurements into product lists.  This person must also be able to address common situations which are part of drape installations, including varying ceiling heights, door openings, and last minutes changes.  The Lead Installer must also have considerable experience managing installation crews.   Lastly, it is highly preferable that the candidate have a good working knowledge of LED uplights.

     

    • Pull and load pipe & drape orders.
    • Erect pipe and drape at client sites, hotels, and other venues
    • Work to satisfy client needs on job sites, which often includes short notice requests for changes and modifications.
    • Work within CORT’s computerized inventory system to check and restock items after use.
    • Oversee training, activity and safety of temporary labor.
    • Load trucks to distribute weight evenly and protect product.
    • Conduct pre-use truck inspection.
    • Drive truck to delivery/pick-up locations.
    • Manage paperwork-governing deliver/pick-up.
    • Warehouse duties for pipe and drape as assigned.
    • Clean and make repairs to product.
    • Communicate progress to customer, sales and supervisor.
    • Periodically assist in the warehousing and delivery of rental furniture.

    Qualifications

     

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Reads, understands and communicates effectively in English
    • Current driver's license
    • Clear MVR for the past three years
    • At least 21 years of age
    • Reliable vehicle
    • Safe truck driver able to do city driving
    • Knowledgeable in pipe and drape installation and take down
    • Experience in managing inventory and counts
    • Organized and consistent in checking staged product against delivery manifest
    • Quick thinking and problem solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Excellent customer service
    • Demonstrates enthusiasm and is willing to work long hours as a team
    • This is a full time position averaging 40 hours per week.  Opportunity for overtime.
